Hi, I'm Tim. I built the lab I wished I could hire.
Eight years in search — agency side, in-house, then independent. Tim's SEO Lab is the studio I wanted for small businesses: senior work, published prices, and month-to-month terms.
Why we exist
Small businesses deserve the same search playbook as the big brands.
I spent my agency years watching the same movie on repeat: a $10K-a-month client got the senior strategists, and the $1,500-a-month clients got the intern and a template report. The smaller clients weren't smaller problems — plumbing emergencies and dental implants are life events, and the businesses serving them deserved operators, not account managers.
So the lab runs on different physics. Published prices instead of quote theater. Month-to-month instead of lock-ins. Named deliverables instead of vanity dashboards. And since 2023, a GEO practice that treats AI answers as the newest search surface — not a premium upsell. We stay small on purpose: when you email, it lands with the person doing the work.
The road here
From first client to full lab.
First client, first ranking
Tim builds a website for a family-run hardware store and gets hooked on the moment it out-ranks the big-box store. First lesson: speed and structure beat decoration.
Agency years
Agency-side SEO work across local services and e-commerce — technical audits, content programs, and hundreds of on-page fixes. Also: a front-row seat to how small clients get shortchanged.
Independent
Tim goes out on his own with a simple promise: senior work, published prices, month-to-month. The first 20 sites and programs ship under that banner.
The GEO chapter opens
AI answers start reshaping search. The lab adds generative-engine optimization as a core practice — entity architecture, llms.txt, AI citation tracking — early, when it was cheap to learn.
The lab today
40+ websites launched, growth programs across four continents' worth of English-speaking markets, and a specialist bench on call — still boutique, still month-to-month, still answering our own email.
How we operate
Four rules we don't bend.
Show the work
Every deliverable has a name, a date, and a result attached. If you can't see what you paid for, we didn't do it.
Plain English
You'll never need to Google your own report. Metrics explained, trade-offs named, bad news delivered early.
Own the outcome
We don't blame algorithms in month three. If something isn't moving, we say so first — and bring the options.
No lock-ins
Month-to-month, full handover any time. Long relationships should be earned monthly, not enforced contractually.
Coverage
Boutique team. Your business hours.
We're headquartered in Hong Kong and built for English-speaking markets — with US-hours overlap and monitoring that never sleeps.
Site uptime, rankings, and AI-visibility monitoring run 24/7. Humans reply within one business day — usually much faster during overlap hours.
The bench
Small core, deep bench.
A founder-led core team, plus vetted specialists who slot in per project — so you get senior judgment with scaled capacity.
Eight years in search. Runs strategy, technical SEO, and every audit personally — and still answers his own email.
The hands behind 95-average Lighthouse launches. Static-first builds, clean code, zero bloat tolerated.
Native-English writers with niche experience, edited to a lab standard: sources cited, fluff removed, answers up front.
The patience layer: citation cleanup, review engines, and white-hat placements on sites real people actually read.
Let's find out if we're a fit.
The free 30-minute audit is a working session, not a sales call. You'll leave with three concrete moves for your site — whether or not we ever work together.
